Some are wondering what the Darkhorse 1/2 price Happy Hour is about. Half-price means a $2.25 price tag for pints of Guinness, Troeg's Nugget Nectar, Stone IPA, Otto's Red Mo, Hoegaarden, Stella Artois, Woodchuck Amber Cider, and more. It means $3.50 for Tonto's Demise, Kansas City Ice Water, and all of our other specialty drinks. Pay more, but get much, much more. We think the Darkhorse Happy Hour is the best value in town.

Sylvia is taking the next two Fridays off (Jan 25 and Feb. 1. And Spider Kelly is taking Saturday, Jan. 26 off. The Wilcox Hotel will play in their place.

Lemonsoul debut

We are welcoming State College-based Lemonsoul to the Darkhorse roster of live music. The group, known for its "groove-based jam rock," is scheduled for three consecutive Fridays: July 20, 27, and Aug. 3. They are Dan Vidmar, guitar, vocals; Ingmar Carlson, lead guitar; Lee Parfitt, drums; Austin Arrington, bass; Greg Johnson, saxophone; Landon Evak, percussion. Check 'em out at The Phyrst on Sunday nights.

We hope you find our new home in cyberspace informative, entertaining, and easy to use. Please feel free to contact us at info@darkhorsetavern.com if you have any suggestions about additions to the site. We also have some entertainment notes to announce. Stoney Creek, the "rockinest bar band on the planet," will play some Friday dates this semester, as will State College's own Nightcrawlers (starting Jan. 14). Look for ROUSTABOUT! to continue every Wednesday throughout the spring and pop up occasionally for special events or Friday night parties. We are flattered that so many Roustabout! bands are returning to perform, so check this spot often for upcoming announcements about The Spinto Band, The Sw!ms, The Deathray Davies, The High Dials and more.
