FRIDAY CHANGE-UP

Total Whiteout, normally a Friday night Darkhorse routine, is blacked out this week (Jan. 20) due to a schedule conflict. Taking the stage is One Shot Nicky and Milky Maple Brothers.

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

The Darkhorse will close for the holidays beginning Monday, Dec. 19. We are open New Years Eve for the Wilcox Hotel reunion, and for 2012 our first day will be Tuesday, Jan. 3.
So, here comes the year's end, with all its complications, but if you can make it a celebration. It's more fun that way. And if you don't like turkey, don't eat it, for sheetsakes, eat the shrimp salad and some sweet potato (without the brown sugar and marshmallow, remember, it's already a SWEET potato.) And a little gravy once or twice a year won't kill you. Go for it.

A Wilcox Hotel reunion is a good enough reason for a party, and it's happening this year on New Year's Eve. Also on the bill is Foghat Leghorn.

Local singer Chris Brown will be back on the Darkhorse stage Wednesday (Nov. 30) at 10 p.m. Also appearing will be Nate from the band Bears Discover Fire, with some friends, who bill themselves as The Groove Machine. What's not to like?

The Darkhorse wing special, on Mondays and Thursdays, now has a new, NEW TIME: 6-11 p.m., followed by half-price french fry and nacho appetizers, 10-midnight.
